With the high racial disparity in our region and lack of economic opportunity for many people in poverty, this need is urgent. Summit Academy OIC is perfectly positioned to fill the need for jobs while meeting hiring needs of industries in Minnesota.

When the economic conditions shifted in 2007-08, he needed another opportunity. “I was barely getting by at the time,” he says. Then Evan joined one of Summit’s Construction trainings. He worked hard and finished well.
After on-the-job training at Shafer Construction, he was hired to an entry-level role and moved up quickly. Fifteen years later, Evan has been promoted to a superintendent position in the same company. And it all started because of people just like you. Now he is better positioned for the future and able to help others. He has hired several Summit graduates to give them an opportunity just like he had.
“Summit provides a runway,” Evan says. “It’s a good place to get started.
