KMOJ and Summit Academy OIC Have Teamed Up

Summit Academy OIC and KMOJ FM have teamed up to further our reach in spreading the word about the educational, employment, and earning opportunities available to people in our community.

You’ll soon see billboards in Minneapolis that are co-branded with both organizations’ logos. You’ll hear ads and guest spots on KMOJ highlighting Summit's academic programs and community and fundraising events. And Summit’s logo will be displayed at KMOJ events throughout the year, including Soul Bowl, Voyage Cruise Down the St. Croix, and the Minnesota State Fair.

Known as “The People’s Station,’’ KMOJ takes seriously its reputation as the source for knowledge and information. Summit looks forward to combining efforts with the radio station to provide the community with the information they need to forge a new path for themselves and their families.

The station call letters, “KMOJ,’’ were inspired by the Swahili word “UMOJA, which means “unity.’’

“We’ve been fortunate to work with KMOJ for years,’’ says Leroy West, Summit’s President and CEO. “This formal partnership solidifies our joint commitment to provide pathways for people to move from poverty to the middle class.’’

Freddie Bell, KMOJ general manager says, “KMOJ couldn’t be more thrilled that our legacy organizations are partnering in a meaningful way to support our community.’’
