Summit Prep Tutoring
Summit Academy OIC provides tutoring sessions in math, reading, and language arts to improve individual test scores. Services are offered to fit the needs and learning styles of all individuals seeking academic assistance. We strive to improve individual grades as well as to boost confidence.
The Summit Prep Tutoring program is for individuals without a high school diploma or GED. To qualify for the tutoring program, individuals must score below an 8th grade level in both reading and language, and a 5th grade level in math on the TABE test.
Every Summit Prep student must accumulate 40 hours of tutoring (State Requirement) before retest. Attendance is mandatory.
We have drop-in tutoring sessions for individuals who have their high school diploma or GED. To qualify for our drop-in sessions, individuals must score below a 34 in math, below a 55 in reading comprehension, or below a 4 on the essay portions of the Accuplacer. These are the requirements for entrance into our vocational training programs.
Tutors are available Monday through Friday at various times. Accuplacer tutoring includes questions on concepts and/or specific content, or insights into test-taking strategies.
